Building real wealth is a long process regardless of how many get rich quick infomercials and websites tell you otherwise. In order to keep you focused and motivated, keeping something or rather someone in mind helps you along the long path of building your business empire.
When reading one of the most influential books of all time, Think and Grow Rich there was a section that talked about finding someone that motivates you. A wealthy business man in the book, mentions that what has made him successful all the years of being in business was his attractive secretary. This may not make sense at first, but it was her that motivated him to wake up in the mornings. He worked harder and put in longer hours because she was his motivation to succeed.
Just like the wealthy businessman everyone has people in their lives that have helped bring out the best in them. Likely it’s school teachers, your parents, siblings, a husband or wife, friends or other people that have helped you get to where you are today. These are the people you want to impress and show them that their positive contribution in your live wasn’t a waste.
Personally, I can put names to all those mentioned above as I’ve been fortunate to have had so many positive influences in my life. It’s easy to stay motivated when you think about all the people who have worked so hard to make your life better. Of all your family and friends though it likely no one quite gives a flying crap about you and wants you to succeed more in life than your own mother. Family and friends are great to keep you motivated as they support you in any direction you go, but just as is probably true for many though, it’s my mother that has played the greatest role in my success. My mother is the one that makes me want to build my business, do good in the world, and make a Billion dollars along the way.
So if you need a little motivation to succeed when building your business or in any area of your life, keeping those in mind that have helped you the most will keep you motivated and hopefully we can give back at least a fraction of what they have given us.
